The HVAC industry has come a long way with options for your home since the creation of smart technology. At Carolina Copper HVAC, we strive to give you the best quality service by offering the newest and most efficient maintenance and repair procedures during every appointment you book with us.
When it comes to your home comfort system, getting heating and cooling preventative maintenance and tune ups should is a no-brainer. It extends the lifespan of your equipment, allows it to run more efficiently, and saves you money both in monthly utility bills and repair costs.
This is why at Carolina Copper HVAC, we are proud to offer our Sensi Predict Smart Plan and regular tune ups with our heating and air services, which affords our customers a wide variety of benefits.
With regular tune ups, our Charlotte heating and air conditioning specialists can perform two tune-ups in your home – one before winter to make sure your heater is in optimal condition, and one before summer to ensure you will be cool all season long.
Getting heating and air service only when your system breaks down
From the outside, reactive maintenance looks more appealing as it has less maintenance cost involved. However, time and time again it has proven to be the more costly approach in the long run. As HVAC systems age and wear, they don‘t operate as efficiency as they did when they were installed. You may not notice a sensible difference inside your home at first but as systems get even slightly dirty, you can be sure that they are operating harder than design and on their way to failure.
Getting regular heating and air service maintenance for every season change and repairing small parts before large problems
Having routine maintenance performed on your HVAC system may seem like overkill but it is the only way to prevent major breakdowns in the dead of summer or winter. Having a thorough evaluation and cleaning completed in spring and fall allows us to correct small heating and cooling issues before temperatures change and system demands increase which could be just what your system needs to fail. Heating and air systems can last well over 10 years if they are clean, tuned, and prepared.
No worries! We also offer One Time Tune Ups for all HVAC system types for our customers who don’t want a maintenance plan. Our one time tune ups are just as thorough and extensive but do not yield the same benefits as our maintenance plans.
We offer a smart system that continually monitors your entire system and sends possible AC or heating issues to both you and our scheduling team.
Sensi Predict lets you to know when your system is failing or could fail before it does by sending alerts. We also receive alerts on our end so we know exactly when to reach out and get you scheduled for a full system test. Sensi Predict prevents over 80% of equipment failures. Installation only takes about 30 minutes!
According to the Department of Energy, heating and cooling systems make up 40% to 50% of US household‘s monthly energy bill costs while older and neglected systems can make up well over that in the extreme temperatures of summer and winter. Preventative maintenance can easily make up that lost amount to power bills by simply keeping heating and cooling systems clean. The DOE and EPA have also released studies that state that a buildup of 0.042 inches of dirt or any particulate not designed to be in an HVAC system causes a parallel 21% decrease in system efficiency.
If heating and cooling systems had an odometer on them, it would show what we would consider a lot of miles on a car in just one year. Heating and cooling systems can turn on and off over 50 times a day and the most important fact about this is that they utilize some of the same types of small motors and systems that our vehicles do. Without proper care and preventative repairs on heating and cooling systems, small batteries and wire issues can turn into large motor and coil breaks.
Every HVAC manufacturer recommends that their heating and cooling system be maintained twice a year: one maintenance for summer and winter. You can find your manufacture’s instructions on this in your systems literature or by searching your unit’s model number on the internet. Most every HVAC system packet will have guidelines for technician’s on how to maintain the specific piece of equipment to keep its warranty valid and its efficiency and lifespan within its designed parameters.
Every molecule of air inside of a household will pass through its heating and cooling system’s components. If maintenance is low or has never been performed, its a sure fact that that air is coming into contact with dust, bacteria, fungal growth, and other pollutants that naturally accumulate inside of HVAC systems. Think about it. HVAC systems are typically located in attics or crawlspaces which are dark, water laden, and bug friendly. As air from our bathrooms, kitchens, garages, bedrooms, etc is used and exhaled by us, it still goes into the heating and air system to come into contact with the undesired conditions that are created when no maintenance is performed.
One of the fundamental laws of physics that HVAC technicians have to learn states that as temperature increase so does pressure and as temperature decreases pressure decreases. Heating and cooling systems are all designed to output a certain temperature and work within certain pressures utilizing air, flames, and freon. This is why it is so important to keep heating and cooling systems clean: as dirt, dust, and other particulates coat HVAC systems, this causes an increase in temperatures because they act as insulators and air blocks that keep the system running hot which in turn keeps the pressures high. If heating and cooling systems work out of their specified temperature and pressure ranges, it won’t be long before its weakest link fails.
